I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday, than to introduce a work that's been on my heart for more years than I can remember.

Unfiltered

For my first ever blog post this photo seems incredibly appropriate. My husband took it, with my cellphone, in my sister's backyard. He's my biggest cheerleader, kind of in a stalker-ish Christian way. My sister too, without the stalker part. My nails are chipped. My face is broke out. I'm not sure if I plucked my chin that day. My lace is showing. My edges ain't laid, and I couldn't find a filter to cover up all that sin. But I'm happy, and this is me y'all. I'm God's masterpiece.

There's Room

I was hesitant for a very long time about creating this space because I'm well aware of the fact that there are thousands if not millions of blogs out there. Fear has a way of creeping in and killing dreams. "Why would anyone care about this?" "No one is going to support this." "Am I good enough?" Yet, as I say during most of my fearful times, I know who I am, and I know whose I am; so I know in my soul that there's enough room for me - for anyone of us to accomplish whatever work God has designed for us.

My steps are ordered, and they just happen to be in heels. Until next time, slay on.
